Kia Stinger: used car test – How To Cars

There is magic in every beginning. At Kia, it is particularly big in 2017. For the completely newly developed, 4.83 meter long sports sedan Stinger with the standard “want to have” reflex was certainly not expected by the Koreans. Large air intakes and subtle chrome accents on the fleshy tiger nose are more than a design statement.

Plenty of excitement (and boost pressure) is also provided under the hood: a package consisting of a direct-injection 3.3-liter V6 biturbo engine with an impressive 370 hp, a cleanly graded eight-speed automatic torque converter and standard all-wheel drive enables a comfortable ride , which many owners of South German premium models enjoy confused.

Kia Stinger GT: 0-100 km/h in under five seconds

Of course, this polished overall package is no coincidence: both former Audi designer Peter Schreyer and former BMW M developer Albert Biermann are involved in the development of vehicles. Kia leaving the topsticks run out on the very long leash. If necessary, the standard sprint works in less than five seconds, the possible propulsion only ends at 270 km/h.

Intuitively operated cockpit with a high-quality look and feel. And nothing cracks!

But the exceptional level of dynamics is not the only selling point: staying on board is extremely comfortable and the choice of materials is more than decent. When it comes to space, there is sticks even family-friendly, only the rear ridgeline is flat. In good Asian tradition it is GT-Version what the car dealers at home like to praise as fully equipped: Brembo brakes, head-up display, electric sports leather seats with heating and ventilation, Alcantara ceiling covering, modern infotainment with navigation and various well-functioning driving assistants are on board.

Our three and a half year old test car costs 56,000 euros

Our used test car from Bergmann & Söhne in Hamburg-Harburg was first registered in April 2019. It cost new sticks according to the Schwacke database, 56,590 euros. After a moderate 28,589 kilometres, it is available with a fresh service for 36,890 euros. Is the value correct? The last three and a half years are not to be seen in the dent and scratch free Korean. A ceramic seal of the paint speaks for a pedantic previous owner. The chassis is absolutely tight and rattle free, typical for the mileage, rust is not a problem. The fact that there are rarely serious complaints in model forums on the internet also speaks for the good quality.

Eight-speed automatic/four-wheel drive

you like them sticksshape, but would you like a more subtle engine? that sticks With rear-wheel drive, it also drives fast as a four-cylinder turbocharged petrol engine with 255 hp. The 2.2 CRDi diesel version with 200 hp, which received an SCR catalyst in autumn 2018, is more efficient. There was a subtle facelift for the 2021 model year, since then only the 366bhp 3.3-litre V6 top version has been offered.

The Stinger’s value retention is surprisingly good

Important: sticks is an exclusive exotic and certainly never cheap. The value retention is surprisingly good. And service and repair costs are at a premium level no later than the end of the generous seven-year warranty. NOTE: Unfortunately, the thieves also drive into sticks away. The insurance premiums are correspondingly high.
