New year, new trends and new highlights. From 13 to 15 January 2023, opti, the international trade fair for optics and design, opens its doors in the Munich exhibition center. Behind it: upcoming trends, brand new innovations, strong content and surprising formats. Opti as an ophthalmology fair Made in Germany again proving to be a meeting place for the industry, a get-together for creative people, experts and a place for young designers to be seen. In January, opti should surprise with strong content and formats that go beyond the pure trade fair and intensively promote dialogue with the industry, at opti 2023 itself and beyond.
In addition to product premieres, the fair has a number of other highlights up its sleeve. They will too Top topics dealing with myopia and sustainability, which was already the focus of the last opti. Another focus will be social media. Opticians who would like professional advice on their social media presence can do so during the ‘consultation time’ in the opti CAFÉ. You can already book appointments for free.
There are 36 new exhibitors this year – some of which are among the hottest newcomers to the optical scene. With exhibitors from a total of 28 nations, opti 2023 once again proves to be the international meeting place for the industry, although this year it was concentrated in three full halls due to the continuing economic uncertainty in the markets.
The highlights at a glance
The hot topic of sustainability: Opti SUSTAINABILITY HUB
The topic of sustainability has long since arrived in the industry. The first steps have been taken, opti 2023 is about the road to the future. For this it will be the first time opti SUSTAINABILITY HUB give. In hall C3, experts on stand C3,350 will give keynote speeches on Friday and Saturday at 12.00 and 15.00 and Sunday at 12.00 on new ways to save energy, recycle sustainably, successful filtration of grinding water and much more. Subsequently, visitors and exhibitors meet in a fishbowl discussion and interactively discuss the individual challenges and solutions that have already been implemented.
The push for social media
Opticians and interested trade visitors who would like professional advice on their presence on social media can do so in Working hours do in opti CAFÉ run by ZVA. Experts offer 20-minute crash courses on all days of the fair. The experts: Sarah Schleicher, German optician and eyewear blogger (19,000 Instagram followers) and French optician Anne-Sophie Lapetitte (100,000 Instagram fans) from AnSoStyle. Tours on key topics within ophthalmic optics
Those interested can register on the opti 2023 website Exhibition tours, in collaboration with and performed by epitop GmbH. On this occasion, various key topics in ophthalmic optics will be addressed and exciting impulses will be given. Friday 13 January 2023 at 14.30 the first tour takes place on the topic “Smart imaging in ophthalmic screening”. The second tour, Saturday 14 January 2023 at 11:30, will focus on “best practice measurement methods and management concepts in myopia management”. opti MYOPIA HUB
opti 2023 will be interactive: visitors will be invited to lively exchanges and discussions. You can expect the inspiring format of opti MYOPIA HUB in hall C3 at stand number 334, which is one of several focus areas dedicated to the subject of myopia management. The progression of myopia is a hot topic in the optical world, and it raises the question of whether glasses are a new alternative to slow the progression of myopia. Different approaches will be discussed in lectures and one-on-one discussions with representatives of well-known exhibitors as part of the opti MYOPIA HUB run by HOYA. The chance for young designers
At opti 2023, young designers have the opportunity to present their products and prove why their innovations in optics will determine future trends. The best start-up will be chosen by an international jury of experts who will evaluate according to the new criteria “innovation”, “design & function” and “sustainability”. The startup is assigned opti BOX AWARDand will receive a credit for the rental of the opti stand in 2023 and 2024 worth EUR 1,000 each as well as four-figure marketing PR support. On Mass Saturday 14 January 2023 at 2.30 p.m. the next box prize will be awarded live on site in the opti BOX Café in Hall C2 together with partner eyebizz.
