On 1 October 2022, General Manager Tim Henrik Göhring and his team welcomed the first guest and thus celebrated the official opening of the newly built IntercityHotel Herford. The hotel has 135 rooms, a breakfast restaurant and a bar, as well as three conference rooms of 90 square meters. The Italian architect and designer Matteo Thun was responsible for the interior design. The hotel is operated by Scoop Hotels, a franchise partner of Deutsche Hospitality.

“We are very pleased with the successful start of our new house in Herford, a city that has a lot to offer both economically and culturally,” says Kai H. Gehrmann, Vice President Franchise, Deutsche Hospitality. “After we were able to celebrate the opening of MAXX Hotel Aalen in June, IntercityHotel Herford is already the second hotel this year that we can implement with our partner Scoop Hotels.”

IntercityHotel Herford is located in the heart of the city, near Herford train station. Directly opposite is the “Marta Herford” Museum of Contemporary Art, Architecture and Design, which opened in 2005. Even the view from the outside is like a work of art: The asymmetrical museum building made of red clinker and stainless steel was conceived by Canadian-American star architect Frank Gehry.
