“Ask the Mouse”: Kids steal the show from celebrities

Eckart von Hirschhausen and the mouse invite you to Germany’s craziest quiz show. This time too, the children steal the show from the celebrities.

As they say, knowledge is power. And ignorance? It is fun. Anyone who kills a lot of time on social media experiences this, where everyone becomes an expert in everything. But we don’t want to talk about that here. We deal with rodents of the mouse genus. 40 species are known. We’re talking about species #41, the smartass mouse, the smartass mouse subspecies. She likes to frolic on the first Saturday evening and is honored here with the ARD TV program “Ask the Mouse”. It is about the very important questions in life. How many candies does it take to stick a person to a wall?

“Ask the mouse”: Women are 30 seconds less on the ground after a mistake in football

“Some call it physics, others call it mess,” moderator Eckart von Hirschhausen (55) explains the game. Ski star Felix Neureuther (38) makes himself available to the TV physicist. He attaches himself to 30 candy-glued strips of fabric. They are solved piece by piece – and Felix Neureuther falls: Three is one too few. The guessing teams guessed 18 and 22 respectively. Don’t underestimate the sweet power of a candy. From free fall to sport. More precisely: to prejudices about sports. Women now also play football. And then the first asks three questions: Do women score fewer goals? Do they get up faster after violations? Are they sprinting more often and longer? In fact, they lose an average of 30 seconds on the ground after being violated.

“Ask the Mouse”: Eight-year-old triplets disagree on quiz questions

Jorge González (55), Vanessa Mai (30), Wotan Wilke Möhring (55) in the mouse team are on the guessing team this evening, together with Felix Neureuther, Isabell Varell (61) and Torsten Sträter (56) in the elephant team. The real stars of the show on Saturday night are of course the children. Emil, Ole and Alma, for example, the eight-year-old triplets who like working with ants. Do Amazon ants steal larvae from other species to feed themselves? “True,” says Ole. Can 10,000 ants lift an 80 kg human? “The lie,” Alma reveals. Do ants communicate by banging their heads on a hard surface? “True,” says Emil. There is no reason to be jealous of the young stars. As Eckhart von Hirschhausen says at the very beginning of the show: “We only invited people who were once children themselves.”

“Ask the mouse”: the moderator assures that viewer fees are handled with care

It remains as knowledge: it can be sailed faster than the wind. Negative and positive pressure occurs perpendicular to the wind direction – and the vehicle is pulled forward faster than the wind. 174 kilometers per hour at 50 kilometers per hour wind speed should be the record. What else is there: a duel between man and machine. Parkour champion Andi Wöhle meets drone pilot Sebastian Ruth. The human needs 32.38 seconds due to the given challenges. And the drone through the same challenges? The technology is 1.93 seconds faster – even though it only weighs 220 grams. 25,000 euros goes to Team Maus in the end. “We are very careful with your fees,” assures moderator Eckart von Hirschhausen shortly before the end. At least the smartass mice, the smartass mouse subspecies, would surely agree.
