Seagate has added an external hard drive type to its premium LaCie range. In addition to the new design and the latest interfaces, Mobile Drive and the armored variant Mobile Drive Secure are partly made from recycled materials.
The housings for the portable HD drives for home and on the go are made from recycled aluminum. The manufacturer has also placed great emphasis on sustainability with the plastic components and cardboard packaging.
The contemporary space gray design was created by Neil Poulton, who has been a Seagate designer since 1992. Conveniently, he gives himself the best reference: “Sometimes you design something that’s just a total success!”
Both memories offer capacities of up to 5 terabytes. They are compatible with USB-C and USB 3.0 ports via USB 3.2 Gen 1 USB-C. The USB-C data transfer takes place at 130 megabytes per second.
