Deutsche Börse welcomes Hashdex as new crypto ETN issuer ()

Issuer Hashdex debuts as an issuer in Frankfurt and on Xetra with a new basket ETN.

8 September 2022. FRANKFURT (German Stock Exchange). The first crypto ETN from Hashdex has been tradable on Xetra and on the Frankfurt Stock Exchange since Thursday.

The Hashdex Nasdaq Crypto Index Europe ETN enables investors to participate in the performance of a basket of cryptocurrencies. In addition to the largest and most liquid digital assets, Bitcoin and Ethereum, this currently also includes the cryptocurrencies Avalanche, Cardano, Litecoin, Solana, Polkadot and Polygon.

The product is physically backed by the digital assets and is cleared centrally via Eurex Clearing.

The crypto-ETN segment now includes 88 products from thirteen providers totaling 20 individual cryptocurrencies and eight crypto indices. All crypto-ETNs tradable on Xetra are physically collateralized and listed on the regulated market of the Frankfurt Stock Exchange. In addition, all crypto-ETNs on Xetra are cleared centrally by Eurex Clearing AG as Deutsche Börse Group’s central counterparty (CCP). Thanks to the central clearing, institutional investors in particular also benefit from significantly reduced risks in the processing of transactions.

The product range in Deutsche Börse’s XTF segment currently includes a total of 1,933 ETFs and 383 ETPs. With this selection and an average monthly trading volume of around €19 billion, Xetra is the leading trading venue for ETFs in Europe.
