With the Agon Pro PD27S, AOC presents another gaming monitor with a Porsche design, this time with QHD resolution. The 27-inch 10-bit IPS panel combines a refresh rate of up to 170 Hz with an extravagant design.

AOC Agon Pro PD27S is designed by Porsche Design. The appearance of the 27-inch QHD gaming monitor takes elements from the Agon Pro PD32M that was presented in April.

Monitor manufacturer AOC continues its collaboration with Porsche Design to create Agon gaming monitors. After the 4K monitor Agon Pro PD32M introduced in April, now follows the smaller model PD27S with an anti-reflective 27-inch IPS panel. The new gaming monitor picks up on the design language of the 31.5-incher, but at €539 (RRP) it’s significantly cheaper than the PD32M, which costs more than €2,000 with its mini-LED backlight.

The Agon Pro PD27S delivers a resolution of 2,560 x 1,440 pixels and achieves a refresh rate of up to 170 Hz with and 165 Hz without overclocking. 120 Hz is supported for consoles. Adaptive Sync is designed to eliminate negative effects such as tearing or stuttering when playing. The G2G response time is one millisecond. The device is also certified for DisplayHDR 400 with a maximum brightness of 350 nits. Since AOC uses a 10-bit panel, according to the manufacturer, the screen is not only suitable for games, but also for color-critical applications. The screen covers 95 percent of the DCI-P3 color space and even 99 percent of the sRGB color space.

design and equipment

The streamlined body, the metal mesh grille on the sides resembling air intakes and the cast aluminum base are meant to evoke design elements from a sports car, but also be functional. The base, which is based on the design of the wheel spokes of the current Porsche 911, can be adjusted in height by 150 mm, tilted and rotated. A pivot function is also available. DTS-optimized 5-watt speakers sit behind the side grilles. In addition, retractable headset holders and software-adjustable RGB lighting are hidden here. The OSD menu, which can be used to call up different game and color modes, also has a special design. A 4-port USB 3.2 hub is available on the underside of the display. The monitor has two HDMI 2.0 ports and DisplayPorts 1.4 on monitor inputs. The AOC Agon Pro PD27S QHD gaming monitor is already available.

The AOC Agon Pro PD32M designed by Porsche Design is based on a 32-inch IPS panel with 4K resolution and mini-LED backlighting. (AOC)
