Tomorrow there is a benefit concert in the amphitheater by Lake Senftenberg. The Federal Police Orchestra Berlin performs on behalf of the ambulatory children’s hospice service “Pusteblume” and the Lacrima bereavement groups of the Johanniter-Unfall-Hilfe eV. Tickets can be purchased for €12 both in advance and at the box office. As Johanniter announced, the evening will be full of world and party hits like “YMCA” by the Village People or theme tunes from “Beauty and the Beast” and “The Little Mermaid.”
Johanniter-Unfall-Hilfe eV informed:
On 25 August at At 18.00 the Federal Police Directorate Forst organizes the POP AROUND THE WORLD benefit concert with the Berlin Federal Police Orchestra for the benefit of the Lacrima groups for grieving children and young people and the ambulatory children’s hospice service “Pusteblume” in Johanniter-Unfall-Hilfe in southern Brandenburg. Tickets are available for twelve euros in advance and at the box office in the amphitheater on the new stage at Lake Senftenberg.
The news that one’s child, sister or little brother is seriously ill and dying turns a family’s whole world upside down and leaves the little patients and their families shocked. The Johanniteren has offered advice and help in such situations for more than 10 years: The ambulatory children’s hospice service “Pusteblume” relieves seriously ill children and their families, e.g. by providing hourly care for the affected children, adolescents and young adults and helps deal with questions of death and death and grief. But time for conversations or carefree afternoons for siblings can also be part of the companionship. “The needs of families always come first. As a result, each accompaniment is very individual in terms of duration and scope,” explains coordinator Manja Bieder.
In the Johanniter lacrima groups, children and young people who have lost a loved one find a protected and trusting environment for their own grief journey. This is very different from an adult’s grieving process, so this offer of help is also urgently needed.
“However, our work is not a form of therapy, but to accompany, accompany and support,” stresses Bieder. None of this would be possible without the commitment of numerous volunteers and without donations: the offers are always free for those affected. The Johannites are always dependent on donations for the coordination, training and supervision of the volunteers or special offers for dealing with grief in the Lacrima groups.
The aid organization is all the more grateful for the constant support of the Federal Police Directorate Forst, which this year brought the Federal Police Orchestra Berlin to the amphitheater on the new Senftenberg stage on the shores of Lake Senftenberg in Großkoschen for the benefit of the two projects.
With the program POP AROUND THE WORLD, the orchestra makes a big musical splash: World and party hits such as
“YMCA” by the Village People or a “Best-of” by the Jackson 5 create an exuberant mood, while theme tunes from “Beauty and the Beast” and “The Little Mermaid” invite you to dream. Of course, the professional musicians will not be without a few wind music classics before they land back on Lake Senftenberg after their musical world tour. All proceeds from the concert will benefit the ambulatory children’s hospice service “Pusteblume” and the Lacrima bereavement groups.
