Amazon Prime Video should shine in new glory. With a fresh user interface, you naturally want to equip yourself better against the competition.
Many streaming users should be happy with the news: Amazon has announced an overhaul of its video portal. The redesign is due to be rolled out worldwide as early as this week, offering users a completely “redesigned experience”.
According to Amazon, the revised interface, including new navigation for the Prime Video app, should be visible on TV devices as well as the streaming devices in the Fire TV family and the Android app. The rollout of the iOS operating system and the web view will follow later.

This is what the new Amazon Prime video looks like
As part of the innovation, Amazon has focused on user-friendly navigation, faster finding the programs you want and easy viewing of live content. While the creators of the portal have been repeatedly criticized by many viewers in the past for not labeling content properly, Amazon is now promising improvements here.
New visualization
Already at first glance, the new design should stand out from the old user interface: According to Amazon, a new color palette, rich images and well-thought-out details have been used.

User-friendly navigation
Not only the basic appearance, but also the navigation Amazon has taken to heart. According to the company, the navigation menu has been simplified and is easily accessible. For better orientation on TVs, the navigation menu in the corresponding apps has been moved to the side of the screen. “The app starts with six main pages: the home area, the store, a search area, a live TV page, an area for free content with advertisements, and a dedicated area.
Easy access to live TV
The innovation clearly shows that live content is becoming increasingly important for Amazon, as access to such content has now been simplified. Regardless of whether it is sporting events or other events – a user-friendly program guide must help keep an eye on all current and future program items.

“The sports menu offers a cinematic experience with dedicated carousels to show the leagues and teams that interest you. The site will also feature sports documentaries and additional content such as replays and popular sports videos.
Quick to find with new carousel
To help users find the content they want faster and easier, Amazon has unveiled a new carousel designed to “not only present videos with richer, more cinematic imagery, but also enable customers to .” [wird]to find something to stream quickly and efficiently”. Amazon’s original productions and exclusive content will apparently be even more in focus in the future. A new “super carousel” that displays larger, poster-style images also helps with this.

Better labeling of content
Missing or unclear labeling of content should finally be a thing of the past – that’s what Amazon promises and refers to new design features. A blue tick makes it easy to see which content is part of the free Prime offer. Content that requires additional payment as part of a purchase or loan is marked with a shopping bag symbol.
New search
Last but not least, Amazon wants to have redesigned the search: “Search suggestions are displayed live as you type, and you can easily filter the results by genre or 4K UHD. Search results use the new visual cues to clearly indicate which videos are included for you.
