Austrian Post collaborates with Tokapi

Previous generations of cryptocurrencies were mostly focused on selling physical stamps accompanied by their digital twin.

The launch of Crypto Stamp Art (CSA) is scheduled for July 22, 2022 following the release of the associated physical memory block on July 1st. Collectors can purchase 2,500 CSA Mystery Boxes exclusively at

Each digital mystery box contains four non-fungible tokens (NFTs), a special stamp pad and a physical trading card, a so-called art special stamp. Each NFT has color values distributed in different frequencies with increasing rarity.

The rarity levels are as follows:

Red: 100 copies | 1% rarity.
Yellow: 1000 copies | 10% rarity.
Blue: 3000 copies | 30% rarity.
Pink: 5896 copies | 58.96% rarity.
Purple / green / turquoise / Friedrich: 1 issue each | 0.01% rarity.

It is important to know that only buyers of Mystery Boxes will receive an exclusive physical art stamp after purchase.

What makes the crypto stamps so special?

This exclusive art card is a strictly limited trading card equipped with various security features and an NFC chip. In addition, it can be broken in the middle. The right side shows an art print, while the left side can be used as a regular stamp.

Bridge between the traditional and the digital world with classic stamps

The first issue of the CSA is a modern reinterpretation of the 1851 Merkur newspaper stamps, which originally appeared in four color values. Unfortunately, there are very few copies of the red mercury today, making it one of the rarest stamps in Europe and by far the most valuable stamp in Austria.

Josef Anxmann, an engraver, designed the original stamps of the 19th century. Encode Graphics designed the new 2022 edition together with Ari Pratama and PR1MAL CYPHER, a renowned Austrian digital artist and NFT expert. The new special stamp block with a nominal value of 3.70 euros was issued 150,000 times. It is available at all post offices at

To promote the acceptance of NFTs in Austria and worldwide, the Austrian Post is giving away the block with special stamps free of charge to buyers of CSA Mystery Boxes. In addition, each box contains four NFT collectibles and a limited edition commemorative stamp.

CSA Mystery Boxes will be available from July 22 exclusively on for 500 euros per. box. However, you do not have to be a blockchain expert to participate in the campaign. Tokapi allows you to use a credit card or pay via instant transfer without having to create a wallet.

Crypto-stamp art is just the beginning

This issue marks the beginning of the newly developed Crypto Stamp Art project. It forms a digital collector’s object with a physical counterpart, focusing on collecting digital works of art and collaborating with the big of the NFT scene.

The Austrian Post relies on new interpretations and has already been able to attract other internationally acclaimed artists who will implement future editions of Crypto Stamp Art.

Patricia Liebermann, Head of Philately at Österreichische Post AG, supports the upcoming kick-off event:

There has been a generational change in collection. Younger people use NFTs to make digital collectibles truly valuable and unique. This is the perfect opportunity for us to bridge the gap between physical and digital collection with crypto-stamp art that appeals to all generations.

Patricia Liebermann, Head of Philately at the Austrian Post

Daniel Lenikus, CEO of Tokapi, also commented on the partnership with Austrian Post:

Blockchain is changing the world even faster than the Internet and usually involves considerable complexity. We remove these obstacles. NFTs should be an inclusive technology that anyone can use, not limited to a select few with deep blockchain knowledge. At Tokapi, we offer collectors the easiest way to buy digital assets, which helps to board a new wave of collectors.
