Freising’s children should not be bored during the summer holidays. The city’s youth welfare team has created a sophisticated holiday program.

Freising – Hannah Hoffmann from the city’s youth care is particularly pleased: “Finally, there are many sports clubs on board again” – such as TSC-Seewolf Freising, which for the first time offers snorkeling for children from nine to 14 years. In addition to the very wide range of sports, including a capoeira tasting course and climbing in the climbing hall Freising, there are of course also numerous excursions this year: for example to the treasure hunt for pirate at Chiemsee or to the escape drums of Neufahrn. Young artists are also supported by the city’s youth welfare, for anyone who wants to can participate in a theater workshop, try painting at the Schafhof or make soapstone sculptures.

The specials

“Some offers will be very popular,” Hoffmann believes. Therefore, there are raffles again this year. This means that interested parties can register online from 26 June, and from 28 June, lots will be drawn for the available places if there is a great demand. Registration is only possible online after registration, not via e-mail. Telephone registration can only take place in special cases.

For Mayor Eva Bönig, Freising always offers a holiday program that other cities can learn from, and this time as well. Above all, the success story of the adventure playground at the Sebaldhaus is “terrific”, which is also due to the commitment of manager Gabi Dworsky.

The transformation

During the holiday season, the Sebaldhaus will be transformed into Robin Hood’s home with Katzenstein Castle, a forest and castle workshop, competitions and archery in the Sebald Forest. “Every child is free to choose whether to join Robin Hood or move into the castle,” Dworsky explained. From 1 August to 9 September, Tierra del Fuego participants can prepare their own menu, indulge in juggler markets or play bowling in Sir Helmut’s throne room to their hearts. On August 3, a traveling tree turner even comes to introduce the kids to his art. What’s important to Dworsky because of the concept: “Kids should also use the booked week and not just come one day.”

The madhouse

On the other hand, it gets pretty cool in the Tollhaus, because that’s the motto of the long holidays: “Check in and spend an unforgettable summer holiday in the Tollhaus Beach Club”. In addition to a pool area and a wellness oasis, there is an animation program, exciting tournaments and creative workshops: So the south comes to Freising. According to director Tanja Wilke, there are 70 places a week, for the youngest it is a requirement that they have completed their first school year. Wilke is also important: “It would be very desirable if the children came all week.” What is sometimes forgotten: cancellation if an agreement cannot be complied with. “Please call well in advance so the space is free again,” Hoffmann says.rl
