There were several robberies in Duisburg over the weekend of 18-19. June. Unknown people struck six times, attacked their victims and fled with cash, mobile phones and an e-scooter – two of them were attempted, police reported.
A 30-year-old was picked up on Saturday night at 0.40 on his way home by two strangers on Friedrich-Wilhelm-Strasse in Dellviertel. When they demanded cash from him, the man from Duisburg ran away, but one of the perpetrators must have followed him on a bicycle. He attacked Duisburger until passers-by hurried to help. The man then fled without taking anything with him on his black bicycle. He is described by witnesses as follows: about 30 years old, 1.75 meters tall, black, curly hair, an olive green hoodie, dark khaki trousers.

Raid in Duisburg: Man faints
Also in Dellviertel, a 12-year-old boy was robbed on Sunday around 3pm in Immanuel-Kant-Park. The teenager told police he was sitting on a bench in the playground when three strangers sat down with him and demanded his fanny pack. One of them must have hit the 12-year-old. The trio fled with their prey in the direction of the main station. The predators are estimated to be 14 to 16 years old and 1.50 to 1.60 meters tall. All three wore hoodies and medical masks.
During the night from Friday to Saturday, a 25-year-old reported to the police and told the officers that he had been robbed. Two strangers must have pushed him off the bike between 01.30 and 03.30 on Mülheimer Strasse in Duissern, after which the young man fainted. The perpetrators fled with the 25-year-old’s breast pocket, including personal documents, cash and a mobile phone. They are estimated to be 25 to 30 years old. Both wore a white top and shorts.
Children attack two women and a man
Two children demanded cash from two women and a man early Saturday morning around 02.20 on Königstrasse. They blackmailed the trio with a cobblestone as possible projectile. With some money in exchange, the robbers set off in the direction of the main station. They were about 10 to 14 years old and 1.50 meters tall. Both have short, dark hair. One of them wore a hoodie with gray and white stripes.
At 0.40 on Sunday night, a robber threatened a 21-year-old with a knife in the parking lot of an indoor swimming pool on the street Am Hausgewann in Rumeln-Kaldenhausen. The robber attacked the man, beat him and demanded that his fannypack be handed over. The 21-year-old fell. While lying on the ground, the stranger grabbed the man’s e-scooter and fled with an “Eastpak” fanny pack filled with headphones, a train ticket and a purse. Ambulances treated the injured 21-year-old on the spot. He described the robber as follows: Early to mid-20s, short blue jeans, short hair.
Escape from three strangers in Hochheide
Three strangers threatened and physically attacked a 24-year-old early Saturday morning between 5:30 and 9 p.m. Your request: cash. When the man had little money with him, he went to an ATM on Moerser Strasse. He spent an unobserved moment, ran off and sought protection at a pharmacy. The trio then boarded a Ford Focus and fled.
