The Krefeld Family Education Center offers many different courses for young people and children from the age of eight during the holidays. Participants can also make their own jewelry.

The family education center in Krefeld invites children and young people to many different courses during the summer holidays. If you feel like it, you can use the school break to get creative or to continue your technical education. It starts on July 1st. Every Friday from 11.00 to 13.15 book club for children from ten to 14 years. “Reading promotes language skills, concentration, creativity and imagination. In times of the internet and online games, we create a cozy, stress-free space where we can pursue our passion: read books, discuss them, separate them and analyze them, ”says the organizer. The first hour begins with getting to know each other, where reading experiences, favorite books, and authors are discussed. Then they choose to read books together.

“Sewing for children” means for young people from ten to 16 years on Monday, July 4th, through Thursday, July 7 at. 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Bags are sewn from old jeans. “And it also works if it’s the first contact with the sewing machine,” says the organizer. “If they have, the students must bring fabric, fabric scraps, accessories or a pair of old jeans – preferably men’s trousers, as they contain a little elastane – and old shirts.” The patterns are discussed with the course leader. If you have your own sewing machine, you can bring it with you. Sewing machines can also be borrowed.

“pen and paper” is an imaginative role-playing game for children aged twelve to 16, which takes place on Wednesday, July 6thand Thursday, July 7th, 15.00 to 18.00, offered. All you need is paper, pen and dice. “A typical round of the game begins with all participants creating a character: humans, elves, orcs or dwarves, anything is possible,” says the course leader. “These characters are then played by the participants. A game master tells a fairy tale. The characters immerse themselves in the story and can move freely in it. ” This includes exploring the world together, solving puzzles, finding treasures and fighting monsters. “The dice determine whether an action succeeds.”

“Make your own jewelry” for children from the age of ten takes place on Tuesday, 2nd of August15:00 to 18:00. From the “pearl angel” to the jewelry set (necklace, earrings, bracelet), various techniques for jewelry design are learned. “With a colorful selection of different materials such as glass, wood, acrylic beads and hematite, there are no limits to creativity.”

The course will also be creative “Jewelry made by ArtClay®Silver” for young people from the age of twelve on Wednesday, August 3, from 15:00 to 18:00. Necklace pendants or earrings are made of 999 ArtClay® silver. From idea to finished jewelry, the young people are instructed professionally.

At the end of the event, the robots will be presented to parents and other interested parties. ” The material will be made available.
