Skate-aid x Takko Fashion: Design competition for children
The non-profit organization skate-aid and the fashion company Takko Fashion are holding a design competition for children. As part of the collaboration, an exclusive capsule collection is also created for children and teenagers.
Telgte, 07.06.2022. The mission “We make children strong!” is the motto for the collaboration between the organization skate-aid and the fashion retailer Takko Fashion: Children between the ages of ten and 14 have the opportunity to participate in a children’s design competition and express their creativity in a picture on the motto “skating helps make children strong” to let them run free. The winner will then be invited to an exclusive design workshop at Takko Fashion’s headquarters for the European fashion company and can see fashion and graphic designers design the capsule collection live skate-aid x Takko Fashion to look over the shoulder. In addition, the winner will receive a cash prize and their own skate-aid skateboard. In addition, ten Takko Fashion coupons of 100 euros each will be distributed among all participating children.
“With skate-aid, we have supported social skate park projects for vulnerable children and young people around the world since 2009. Especially in areas where there are social problems and difficult living conditions,” says Maik Giersch, CSO for skate-aid. “We are very happy , that we could win Takko Fashion for our mission ‘We make children strong’ and do things together with the capsule collection – for a good cause. “At every sale of a piece of clothing from the collection, a portion of the profits goes directly to skate-aid and support their projects worldwide.
The exclusive skate-aid x Takko Fashioncollection for children and teenagers will be available from February 2023 in all stores throughout Germany and in the online shop and will include branded socks, caps and hoodies in addition to T-shirts and long sleeves.
Until July 14, 2022, children between the ages of ten and 14 can submit their self-designed image with the motto “skate-aid makes children strong!” as a photo or scan (pdf, jpg, png file) to skate-aid @ takko.de send it and participate in the design competition. Since its founding in 2009 by skateboard pioneer Titus Dittmann, skate-aid has implemented social skatepark projects for vulnerable children and young people in countries such as Uganda, Namibia, Palestine, Syria and Nepal. Especially in areas where there are social problems and difficult living conditions, skate-aid supports the children in their development and thus promotes self-determined learning. In addition, skate-aid provides guidance, contributes to gender equality and enables an increase in self-esteem, intrinsic motivation and community awareness, personal responsibility and determination.
