Mittenwalde: Enthusiasm over non-public advice from city councilors and mayors
Mittenwalde. An extraordinary meeting of the Mittenwalde City Council was to be convened in May or early June. The relationship between Mayor Maja Busse (CDU) and city council members should be discussed. There will be nothing out of it for the time being, instead there will be a session without publicity next Tuesday. It is about the changed organizational structure in the town hall and the consequent increase in staff costs. This started the argument in 2019.

Fattmann refuses to attend the meeting without the public
“I will not attend the meeting,” Uwe Fattmann (FDP) announced on Wednesday after receiving the invitation signed by the chairman of the city council, Lutz Krause (Pro Bürger). Fattmann feels let down if the public were to be excluded again. He moved the item on the agenda to improve cooperation between the mayor and members of parliament from the non-public part to the public part – with the consent of the member of parliament and mayor Maja Busse (CDU).
It happened in the April meeting. Because this was interrupted at a late stage, the topic should be discussed in the sequel in early May. Maja Buse was not present. Therefore, the exchange decided an early extra employment along with repentance. So far there is no date but the internal meeting in the coming week. “I’m about democracy, and the actions of the mayor and city council chairman are trampling on them,” the FDP man said. He does not understand why the other colleagues in the exchange let themselves be cheated in that way. In his opinion, they should also refuse to participate.

Internal meeting discusses organizational structure and staff costs
But they see it differently. “The invitation refers to the change in organizational structure and staff costs, not to the relationship between city councilor and mayor,” says Werner Hannig (left). Jan Priemer (Pro Bürger) is also calm for the same reason. However, the two issues cannot be completely separated. Here they agree with Fattmann, who emphasizes: “The issue of the organizational structure of the Mittenwalde city administration triggers conflicts between MPs and the mayor.” Jan Priemer therefore does not want to get involved in a discussion on Tuesday about the relationship between Penance and the MPs. Together with Hannig, however, he is of the opinion that a compromise must be found in terms of organizational structure and staff costs so that the budget for the current year can be finally decided. Both see Maja Busse as a commitment, as she has still not prepared the current job plan with associated job descriptions. According to Hannig, she is solely responsible for the current situation.

Buse does not want to rule out Tuesday’s negotiations on cooperation with the byting
However, Mayor Maja Buse will not rule out that the internal meeting on Tuesday will also be about the relationship between her and the exchange. “It will definitely play a role,” she said when asked by MAZ. She followed Lutz Krause’s suggestion. However, he sees it differently. “A public debate on further cooperation between the mayor and city council members has been decided and will take place,” he said. However, the subject will not be discussed until the ordinary meeting in early July.
