Ketho.2 – the continuation of a success story

In the new edition of the Duravit furniture classic, designer Christian Werner continues the recognizable look in a more modern form.

  • Designed by Christian Werner
  • Marked, continuous handle list in anthracite
  • Attractive price-performance ratio
  • 15 surfaces in different price ranges
  • High functionality and comfort
  • Robust Duravit brand quality
  • Can be combined in many ways with Duravit ceramic series
  • Also ideal for project business

With the Ketho.2 furniture series from Duravit, designer Christian Werner continues the recognizable look from the previous series in a revised, more modern form. The continuous anthracite handle strips integrated in the front emphasize the horizontal and thus structure the perfectly proportioned overall picture. Thanks to a wide range of dimensions, surfaces and ceramic series that can be combined, Ketho.2 proves to be an all-rounder in the planning process, which many could already identify with the previous series. Robustness, very high quality and functionality, the durability of the mold and the use of sustainable PEFC-certified load-bearing material for fronts and bodies make the furniture series the perfect everyday companion at a very attractive price.

Timeless design for any interior design style

The timeless design of Ketho.2 fits perfectly into any bathroom and meets all needs. Ketho.2 is characterized by clear, right-angled basic shapes that get a special clarity thanks to the precise plane, 16 mm thick body sides. Christian Werner describes Ketho.2 as “the poetry of geometry, with beautiful proportions and distinctive, transverse handle strips made of anthracite-colored aluminum. The reduced, elegant design language will bring joy for a long time and will not appear ‘out’ in the next fashion wave, in the subsequent ”.

Diversity planning with well-organized storage space

As a complete furniture range, Ketho.2 comprises a total of 27 elements, including washers with revolving door, pull-out or drawers in planning-friendly dimensions from 410 to 1600 mm wide. They are combined with sinks from ME by Starck, D-Neo or Vero Air series as well as a whole range of seating sinks for console solutions. For comfortable use in everyday life, Ketho.2 uses a premium pull-out system that impresses with its smooth driving, high resistance, practical self-closing and soft-close function. Wherever you grab them, pull-outs and doors open gently and silently – just as they close again, almost by themselves. A high-quality interior system is available as an option for the drawers. Half-height and high cabinets expand the storage space. A narrow, double-split wall shelf is ideal as a decorative element with storage space.

Mirrors and mirror cabinets as a visual highlight

Sensor-controlled mirrors (optional with heating) and mirror cabinets (optional with washbasin lighting) blend harmoniously into the overall picture. Two slightly recessed light strips on the left and right ensure direct lighting of the mirror surface. They emit glare-free light on the wall with more than 300 lux and are therefore also suitable as the main light source in the bathroom, which also creates an atmospheric atmosphere. The LED light sources with a pleasant light color have a burning time of more than 30,000 hours and are therefore extremely durable. The control is performed either using a smart Casambi app or an integrated sensor.

Surfaces for individual customer requirements

As a true all-rounder for specific customer requirements, Ketho.2 also offers a wide range of options when it comes to surface selection. From white over several shades of gray to grainy wood, there are 15 decorative surfaces to choose from in different price categories. The three super matt surfaces in white, taupe and graphite with a clean-friendly anti-fingerprint coating meet the highest requirements with their particularly elegant aesthetics and refined feel.

Convincing benefits for planners and installers

Ketho.2 convinces with tangible advantages such as design, attractive price-performance ratio, planning flexibility, sustainability and Duravit brand quality for a long service life. This includes careful machining of surfaces and edges. Even in invisible areas, such as the siphon cutout, they have a water-repellent seal and are not sensitive to water spray and increased humidity. ABS edges are used for decorative surfaces and real wood veneer, which are also scratch and impact resistant. This also applies to HPL (high pressure laminate) coated decorative surfaces.

8 mm thick rear walls, which are glued over the entire surface in a milled groove, ensure high stability for tall cabinets. The resulting space for the wall ensures improved air circulation behind the furniture. Strict control during and after the completion of all production steps guarantees the high Duravit brand quality.

The completely pre-assembled and preset Ketho.2 furniture elements also enable simple and time-saving installation and are therefore equally suitable for private bathrooms and project industries such as. hotels. All Duravit bathroom furniture is manufactured exclusively at their own production site in Schenkenzell in the Black Forest.

Christian Werner

Christian Werner, born in West Berlin in 1959, is a German industrial designer who, in addition to spatial concepts, has specialized in the design and development of furniture for the past twenty-five years. His work can be found at a large number of well-known European manufacturers, including Ligne Roset, De Sede, Duravit, Thonet and Leolux. In addition, he realized various interior design projects.

He has a clear handwriting. Christian Werner’s design language is reduced, he seeks excitement in the simple and does not orient himself towards short-term trends. He always keeps an eye on the people he wants to reach with his designs, because for him, design is an expression of emotions and sensuality through form and material. / Facebook @Christian Werner Industrial Design / Instagram @christianwernerdesign
