The traffic light decided on the emergency aid package in 2022. This is the government’s response to the effects of the Ukraine war. Families enjoy the child bonus.

Update from 27 April 2022 at 12:41: The 2022 aid package is in place: At a cabinet meeting, the federal government decided on the planned aid measures to compensate for the high energy costs. Among other things, the politicians agreed on an energy price rate of 300 euros, a fuel discount, a Hartz IV subsidy and a child subsidy bonus of 100 euros, which parents must have once per year. child. The multi-billion dollar aid package is intended to bring support to the citizens in the midst of the Ukraine war.

Child benefit bonus: the Cabinet waves through the emergency relief package 2022 – the one-time payment of 100 euros can be paid

Berlin – The cost of living was high even before the Ukraine war led by Russian President Vladimir Putin. Families with several children but also recipients of social benefits such as Hartz IV were faced with a precarious situation. Meanwhile, the cost of energy and fuel prices has risen enormously. The traffic light coalition responds to this with the emergency aid package 2022, which includes the child bonus. But what is it about, and when will the money be paid out at all?

Child bonus decided: Trafiklys presents emergency aid package 2022 – families receive a one-time payment of 100 euros per. child

In order for the families to be able to support themselves financially, the child allowance comes into force through the help package that the politicians have decided on. In addition to child allowance, a one-time payment of 100 euros per child must be paid. children through the family benefits office. As with the payments in the Corona years 2020 and 2021, the child allowance will be set off against the child allowance.

This means that top incomes hardly or not at all benefit from this measure through the aid package from the SPD, FDP and the Greens. The situation is different with recipients of social benefits, who receive an additional one-off payment of 100 euros in addition to the 100 euro subsidy already decided. In the emergency aid package 2022, this also applies to, for example, Hartz IV recipients.

Child bonus and child allowance in Germany: All parents in Germany are entitled to payments

Already in January 2023, the standard requirements had to be raised within reasonable limits due to price increases. However, consumer advocates had already criticized that the financial support in the form of the emergency aid package would not be enough. For people who already have little money at their disposal would not be able to cope with the one-time payments.

But what about the child bonus? First of all, all parents in Germany are in principle entitled to monthly payments. The child benefit * is intended to support mothers and fathers in covering the cost of clothing or food for their children. It does not matter if the child is your own. Adopted children, sometimes even foster children, also receive this payment.

Corona child bonus was paid out in 2020 and 2021 – now the child bonus comes in the help package 2022 as a reaction to increased energy prices

Due to the corona pandemic, an additional child bonus was only adopted in 2020. For each child, legal guardians received a one-time payment of 300 euros. In 2021, such a support payment, ie another child bonus, was approved by politicians. However, this was only 150 euros per. child.

According to “inFranken.de”, a corona-related child bonus will be canceled in 2022. Instead, the one-time bonus was decided on Friday, March 25, 2022 as part of the help package. It is still unclear when the child allowance will ultimately be paid out in the manner described.

Aid package 2022: the traffic light coalition decides to help consumers – fixed energy prices and 9-for-90 tickets on buses and trains

In addition to the child bonus 2022, the leaders of the governing parties have also decided on other initiatives as part of their aid package. As a direct response to the increase in energy prices, a fixed energy price subsidy of 300 euros was adopted for consumers. In 2022, there must still be a one-off payment via income tax. The energy standard will probably be introduced in June and benefit all employees in Germany.

In addition, the traffic light coalition plans to introduce a ticket for nine euros a month for buses and trains for 90 days. A special advantage in local public transport (ÖPNV), for which the federal states should still receive appropriate funding.

Minister of Finance Christian Lindner (FDP) decides on tank discount – Hartz IV recipients receive a one-time payment of 100 euros extra

However, these are far from all the points that the relief package contains apart from the child bonus. In addition, the fuel discount has been promoted by Minister of Finance Christian Lindner (FDP). In this way, the traffic light responds to current developments by lowering the energy tax on fuels. The price of fuel for petrol must be reduced by 30 øre and the price of liters for diesel by 14 øre, which could lead to chaos at the petrol stations on 1 June. A possible start date for the tank discount as a fuel price brake for diesel and petrol was also considered by Lindner.

In return, the traffic light, as mentioned at the beginning, also included recipients of Hartz IV and social assistance in its emergency aid package. You will receive an additional 100 euros once. It is not yet known when this money will be paid extra at the standard Hartz IV rate.

After the 2022 aid package is under Corona: the Omicron variant is spreading at a furious speed

With its emergency aid package and associated initiatives such as the child bonus, the traffic light coalition is responding to current developments. However, it should not be forgotten that the corona virus continues to place a huge burden on society.

The Robert Koch Institute (RKI) reports new heights in the number of corona infections almost every day. This is mainly due to the rapid spread of the Omicron variant. To make matters worse, it is not always clear what symptoms are actually present in an omicron infection. The situation is even more drastic with the omicron subtype BA.2 and its symptoms, of which science has little knowledge, while a new omicron symptom after a corona infection causes an unpleasant sensation.

Mask requirements in discount stores and supermarkets: Will the corona rule in Aldi, Edeka, Lidl and Rewe no longer apply after 2 April 2022?

And yet, the mesh requirement in retail can be overturned. In supermarkets and discount stores like Aldi, Edeka, Lidl or Rewe, the Corona rule will definitely apply until April 2, 2022. But what then follows? The countries can independently decide and extend the mask requirement. The same goes for store operators who could make use of their residency rights.

But if the subjunctive remains the same, the mask requirement threatens to expire everywhere in the retail trade – and thus also in discount stores and supermarkets. So it’s time to make a decision. This has already been done by the traffic light coalition with regard to the 2022 aid package. Measures such as the child bonus or the fuel discount are proof of this.

The economic aspect seems to have been taken into account so far. Now, however, health should not be less relevant. After all, hundreds of people die of Corona every day – in Germany alone. * kreiszeitung.de is an offer from IPPEN.MEDIA.
